The Benefits of Red Tea

Most people are familiar with the health benefits of tea, due to its antioxidant properties.

 Red tea, however, may not be as widely heard of or used.  Here are some benefits of red tea.

1.High in Minerals

Red tea is high in calcium, manganese and fluoride, helping to build bones and strengthen teeth. It makes an excellent endurance drink because it is high in minerals such as zinc, copper, magnesium and potassium. In addition, drinking the tea may enhance proper kidney function due to its high concentration of minerals. Because it is low in tannins and oxalic acid, it will not promote the formation of oxalate kidney stones.

2.Slows Aging 

The anti-oxidants present in rooibos tea slows down human aging process and also boost the immunity levels of human body.

3.Immune System Enhancer

Red tea is high in polyphenols, a group of antioxidant phytochemicals that provide health benefits. Drinking red  tea may provide anticarcinogenic, anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects on the body.

4.Caffeine-Free

Red  tea is naturally free of all caffeine thereby making it an excellent drink for those who prefer to drink decaffeinated teas to relax. The tea has been used traditionally to help relieve insomnia and restore natural sleep patterns.

5.Good for Skin

The alpha hydroxyl acid and zinc contents in red tea are best for skin. You can also try applying some red tea powder directly to the skin to relieve acne, pimples, sunburns or related skin conditions.

6.Kidney Stones

Even people with stone problem can drink as much red rooibos tea as they want as there is no oxalic acid in the beverage.

7.Hypertension

Rooibos tea is said to bring relief to stress, nervous tensions and hypertension conditions.

8.Anti-spasmodic Agents

The tea is rich in anti-spasmodic agents, which eases severe stomach cramps and abdominal pains.

9.Allergies

In many parts of South Africa, red tea is used as an effective curative to treat allergies like eczema, hay fever and allergic bronchitis.

Red rooibos tea is an excellent thirst quencher and does wonders for active people such as sportsmen, hyper active children and constant travelers. Most people love to drink rooibos tea in its natural form without any sweeteners.
