An interview of a mainland Chinese stage art director

On the evening of January 12, Shen Yun Performing Arts completed its second show at the prestigious Lincoln Center in New York City, which won the hearts of many audience members. Mr. Song, visiting from mainland China, talked about his incredible experience after watching the performance.

"I feel this show is very pure and very clean; the performers revealed the purity of their inner state and the joy from their hearts, which do not adulterate with any worldly thoughts. One can sense it and immerse in it forever!”

In China, Mr. Song oversees a variety of drama, theater and opera stage creations, handling many different performances, but he said, “I have never seen anything quite as amazing and soul-penetrating as Shen Yun. Every movement looks comforting, magical and pure.  It is virtuous, beautiful and truly reflects traditional Chinese culture. There is a “night and day” difference between Shen Yun and performances in mainland China. My whole being, body and soul, was melting into it.”

"Every program in Shen Yun is very easy to understand. Its colors and costumes are very beautiful.  One can feel the genuine characteristics of different ethnic groups. The movements are delicate, true and delightful and the backdrops match every dance perfectly. The performers, choreographers and the director are magnificent artists! Everyone should come to see such a wonderful show.

Mr. Song used “amazing" and "grateful" repeatedly to express his feelings of watching Shen Yun: "This show really penetrates my heart, very amazing, very amazing and very amazing! I am very grateful, very grateful! "
